China Administrative Regions GIS Data: 1:1M, County Level, 1990 was designed as part of the China Time Series Administrative Regions GIS Data 1:1M, County Level, 1982-1994.
The datasets are based on the maps provided by CASM (Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping). These maps are publicly available in China.
This dataset is composed of boundary files covering the administrative regions of China. The data consist of 34 files (33 data files and one ReadMe file), and are at a scale of one to one million (1:1M) for national, provincial, regional, and county leve ls. The temporal coverage represent the status of China as of 31 December 1990. These files are organized by national and individual province level. The national level (two files) covers all of the administrative regions of China. The data at the province level separates administrative regions into individual provinces and autonomous regions. The county boundaries of 31 provinces and regions are identified individually in 31 files. The datasets includes information on the geographical locations, areas, a dministrative division codes, and names for all counties and islands, which are both in Pinyin.
