The China Population Census Data: %1 Sample, Household, 1982 was developed by State Statistics Bureau of People's Republic of China and archived by Chinese Population Information and Research Center, China. The initial proposal on establishing the international collaboration on information exchange between CPIRC (China Population Information and Research Center) and CIESIN was provided by Dr. Jun Zhu (Information Scientist, CIESIN), in April 1994, and was developed and implemented by Mr. Richard Cicone (Director of Information Sources and Techonology, CIESIN), Dr. Liu Chuang (Information Scientist at CIESIN) and Mr. Li Bohua (Director of Information Department of CPIRC), Mr. Yao Xinwu (Associate Director of Information Department of CPIRC) in May 1994.
The SEDAC (Socioeconomic Data and Application Center) China task group coordinated data management at CIESIN. Contributors included: Dr. Liu Chuang (China Task Leader) for coordinating between CIESIN and CPIRC (China Population Information and Research Center), and within the China task group; Dr. Karen C. Sullivan (Information Specialist) for the metadata records; Mr. Luming Chen, (Data Technician) for archiving the data; Dr. Hendrik Meij (SEDAC Project Scientist) and Prof. C. V. Ravishankar (Professor at University of Michigan) for providing the user interface to the data through the development of the Ulysses Statistical Analysis Engine. Mrs. Clara J del Valle (Data Specialist) for permission of the data dissemination; Dr. Liu Chuang and Dr. Darryl Charache (Information Scientist) for the World Wide Web (WWW) site; Mr. Richard L. Robinson (User Services Manager) and Mr. Jack M. Evans (Data Specialist) for user support; Dr. Robert Chen ( Director of Data Center Services and SEDAC Project Manager) provided overall project guidance.
