Data sources Pop data by commune for 1950, 71 and 82 from: Institute Haitien de Statistique et d'Informatique, Recensement General 1982 Population et Logement, Analyse de quelques indicateurs demographiques tires des Recensements de 1950, 1971 et 1982, Division d'Analyse et de Recherches Demographiques Port-Au-Prince, Avril 1983 Pop data for 1982 and 1987 was available only for the departement level (9 units) from: Laenderbericht Haiti 1990, Statistisches Bundesamt, Wiesbaden, Germany The total of the commune level estimates for 1990 and 1995 were significantly (17 and 14% respectively) lower than the UN national estimates.
