IUCN
The World Conservation Union, also known as the IUCN, is an organization devoted to preserving biodiversity and ecosystem preservation around the globe. Founded in 1948, the World Conservation Union counts more than one hundred government agencies and more than 800 non-governmental agencies as partners. The IUCN is particularly known for its “Red List of Threatened Species” and “Red List Indices,” a comprehensive listing of the status of threatened plants and animals around the globe.
