The Jamaican Government has developed an information management system (IMS) using a Geographic Information System (GIS) software package. The coastline of Jamaica was digitized as a base geo-reference for the Montego Bay Pilot Study. Included in the island base map are the fourteen Parishes of Jamaica: St. James, Trelawny, St. Ann, Hanover, St. Mary, Westmoreland, Portland, St. Catherine, St. Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, St. Andrew, St. Thomas, and Kingston. This coverage is stored in the common coordinate system.
