GENERALITIES
Burkina-Faso has no programme on research and/or monitoring of atmospheric ozone. However, a meteorological station can give climatological data such as temperature, precipitation insolation, wind, etc.
CONSUMMATION CONTROL
Our country is very active in the implementation of the Montreal Protocol. In 1992 the Burkina Consummation of CFC was 32.5 tonnes, so the requirements of Article 5 are met. Our strategy is to reduce this consummation to 60% in 1997. The actions done are custom training refrigerant, changing and laws writing.
IN FUTURE
We would like to renew our project request to the multilateral fund for the installation of an ozone monitoring station. This project had been refused in 1992. There are many persons who are interested in research and monitoring of ozone but there is not enough funds to do such a programme. Our goal is to see a researcher from Burkina-Faso participate at the ozone research discussions.
CONCLUSION
Meteorological stations can be used for installing ozone monitoring so it would be possible to make a good contribution to ozone.
