Use of results
Unlike many other traditional natural and social science disciplines, the results of integrated assessment are explicitly intended for use outside the IA community. As a result, the IA practitioner can no longer assume that the end-users of IA assessment information know how to use and interpret the results. It is the practitioners job, then, to ensure that the results are accompanied by an instruction manual or road map of sorts that identifies the appropriate and inappropriate use of the results and insights from the analysis. In this respect it is also necessary for the analyst to be sensitive to the capabilities and perspectives of the intended audience. Precision and parsimony are to be valued in ensuring that results are appropriately used.
