Selected E-Mail/WWW Gateways

1. E-Mail Access to WWW Human Dimensions Data and Information Resources. CIESIN's Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC) maintains a service to provide e-mail access to human dimensions data and information resources available over the WWW. Users may retrieve WWW documents either as plain text or in hypertext format for local viewing with a standard browser. The service currently utilizes the Agora software developed by the W3 Consortium, which does not yet support hypertext forms. The service is free, but registration is required. 2. GetWeb. SatelLife HealthNet's GetWeb server allows users to request WWW pages via e-mail. It supports both text and hypertext format documents and is capable of submitting keyword searches to standard Internet search services. SatelLife is an international not-for-profit organization serving health communication and information needs of developing countries.
