Building capacity for research and assessment on the consequences of climate change, for evaluating potential adaptation and mitigation options, and for working with the scenario information provided, is a vital need and is carried out by a number of organizations and activities. While the TGICA does not itself engage in capacity building, it coordinates with organizations that have this mandate. It has developed a framework for capacity building that provides a model for building human resources and institutional capacity in the development and use of climate scenarios in research and assessment.
The TGICA General Guidelines on the Use of Scenario Data for Climate Impact and Adaptation Assessment also seeks to add to capacity.
