This database is a combination of two datasets from the 1990 Mexico population and housing census. One file containing geographic coordinates and place names was matched, by place name, to a second file containing a sample of census data items. The result is a file containing geographically referenced population and census data for approximately 83.7 percent of the Mexican population.
