Documentation
This is a vector based point coverage created with Arc/Info software. Each Urban Place (Metropolitan Area, Conurbation or City) is geographically referenced down to one tenth of a minute. Point locations (urban places) were generated from coordinate files obtained from the Instituto Nacional De Estadistica Geografia E Informatica (INEGI). A state boundary coverage digitized by the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan from hard copy maps of 1:1,000,000 scale was used as the base cover.
