This data set consists of annual, summertime, and wintertime Surface Urban Heat Island (SUHI) intensities for daytime and nighttime for more than 10,000 global urban extents in GeoTIFF (.tif) and Shapefile (.shp) formats. For all multi-band tifs, the GeoTIFF includes multiple bands representing different annual values, and users are advised to select "stretched" to represent the data in a GIS package, and then select the band they are interested in displaying (e.g., All_daytime_UHI, Summer_nighttime_UHI, etc.):
- UHI all averaged (cluster-mean composite daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity averaged across 2003 to 2018 for annual, summer and winter periods) - GeoTIFF (46 MB zip file)
- UHI monthly averaged (monthly composites of daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity) - GeoTIFF (149 MB zip file)
- UHI yearly averaged (cluster-mean yearly composites of daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity from 2003 to 2018) - GeoTIFF (295 MB zip file)
- UHI yearly pixel (spatially disaggregated [nominal scale of 300 meters] annual daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity from 2003 to 2018) - GeoTIFF (814 MB zip file)
- Summer UHI yearly pixel (spatially disaggregated [nominal scale of 300 meters] summertime daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity from 2003 to 2018) - GeoTIFF (811 MB zip file)
- Winter UHI yearly pixel (spatially disaggregated [nominal scale of 300 meters] wintertime daytime and nighttime SUHI intensity from 2003 to 2018) - GeoTIFF (814 MB zip file)
